Students listed some of their favorite texts from the year, then shared their recommendations with classmates.  Together, we created a Summer Reading Bucket List to ensure we have ideas of what to read throughout the summer.

Today, we discussed the importance of reading over the summer to ensure we are as strong as ever when fifth grade begins in August.  We brainstormed a list of places we'd like to read during the warmer months.

Today, we visited the Daniel Boone Historical Site.  Although the weather was a bit cold, we had a wonderful time!  The students were EXTREMELY well-behaved: they used self-control on the bus ride, treated adults and peers with respect, and enjoyed learning about Daniel Boone, one of America's most famous pioneers.  Thank you to Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Heavey, & Mr. Maguire for chaperoning our trip!

Miss Kristy, the schoolmarm, teaches us about what school was like for pioneer children.

Jordan & Captain America - I mean Gavin - play "Graces," a game of catch using sticks and a hoop.

Miss Katie & Isabella show the group how to play "Graces."

The class listens closely as Miss Katie explains pioneer games.

Isabella, Ashley & Paris listen to Mr. Jake in the woodworking shop.

Miss Dausmann's 4th Grade Class (along with a few other friends)

Mr. Jake teaches Paris how to shave wood.

Mr. Jake lets Christopher practice his wood-carving skills.
