Our new favorite activity is Swap Talk; it's a fun and social way for us to grow our knowledge about a specific topic.  For example, did you know Campbell's Soup company sells $20 million worth of cream of mushroom soup each year because of their green bean casserole recipe?

Benjamin Franklin wanted the national bird to be the...you guessed it: turkey.

The first Thanksgiving only included knives and spoons as eating utensils.  Forks didn't become popular until the 18th century.

This week I read an important reminder, "Children to not misbehave, they behave to have a need met."  While it's important for kids to have specific feedback about which behavior is acceptable and which is not, it's helpful to remember most inappropriate behavior is a result of a need that's not being met.   Check out this article to learn about 25 factors that impact a child's behavior.

How lucky are we to live in a country where millions are eager to serve and protect us, no matter the sacrifice?   I'd say we're pretty fortunate.  Even better: our children attend a school where teachers make time to educate them on the importance of this holiday, then invite our veterans in to celebrate them.  We salute you, Veterans!

Jonathan Auxier, author, visited Crestwood to teach us about the power of writing and storytelling.
Miss Dausmann's 4th grade class had a wonderful time at the ballpark!  We visited Mike Shannon's KMOX broadcasting box, Mr. Dewitt's baseball card collection memorialized in wallpaper in the Champions club, the World Series trophies, dugout, and more.  Students made Crestwood proud with behavior and enthusiasm.  Each student was awarded a voucher for two free Cardinals tickets!
