Writer's Workshop
We are jumping right into our new Unit of Study in writing: Realistic Fiction.  Students are learning about the special features of Realistic Fiction and the importance of developing main and secondary characters.  Writers should know their characters so well that they know how much change is in their pockets.  A strong RF story should also include a problem or struggle that people can relate to.  "Thank You, Mr. Falker" and "Oliver Button is a Sissy" are great mentor texts for RF, so we'll refer to them to help us make our pieces excellent.
