During class meetings this week, we spent time talking about gratitude.  Gratitude means showing appreciation for the simple things we already have, rather than following our brain's instinct to always want more.  Gratitude also means expressing sincere thanks when others do something nice for you.

...to parents who helped us celebrate our great behavior by having Show & Tell today!  I appreciate you helping your child to pick just the right item to bring, whether it was a toy, photo, or furry friend.  We had a blast!
...to parents who volunteered at Cultural Day or Night to help make it a success.  Crestwood is unique because we have students from all over the world. We love celebrating our differences, and this day is successful year after year because of our volunteers.

Star of the Week

Madison shares her newspaper with the class.

Library

Because Wednesday was Picture Day, Mr Stevens came to our classroom for Library.  He filled us in on our library's new inhabitant, Shell the Turtle.  Shell loves hearing poetry by Shel Silverstein, and Mr. Stevens encouraged kids to stop by and read a poem or two to our new pet.

Science
Mrs. Branding taught students more about the scientific method this week.  Students completed a salt water investigation and practiced measuring the height of bouncing ping pong balls on different surfaces.
