Our character word of the week was patience. We watched an old, silly Sesame Street video to remind us that it means to wait without complaining or sharing our urgency with others. We discussed reasons it's difficult to be patient: usually the thing we're waiting for is something we really want and our brains are sort of wired to have it right now. We learned that patience can look many different ways: sitting still, closing our eyes, taking deep breaths, and even helping others while we wait for that exciting moment.

Questions for Kids
I'd like to try something new. Listed below are a few questions to ask your child to help learn more about his/her week at school. I will try to keep questions specific, engaging, and fun for kids so you can void the "I don't know" and "Fine" responses. =) Let me know how it goes!- How is your classroom leadership role going?
- What do you think Rob & Sistine are learning about friendship in The Tiger Rising?
- I heard you got some playing cards this week! Can you teach me to play Addition War or Salute?
